BOARD MEETING MINUTES
The Town Board of Auburn met on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 for their monthly meeting.
All were present plus Lary and Annie Boese, Al and Mark Blaha, Clyde and Janet Allison, John and Jim Pingel, Adrian Hendriksma and Heather Philipps who left at 7:20 PM. Al Blaha, the Allisons, Pingels and Adrian Hendriksma left at 8:20 PM.
The meeting was called to order at 7:08 PM.
The minutes of the August meeting were read. Jay Sippy made a motion to approve the minutes as read. Leo Zeman seconded the motion. Carried.
Next the floor was opened for Public comment with each person being given 5 minutes to speak on one subject. Jim Pingel, took the floor and expressed his concerns about the proposed 4 houses per 40 acre subdivision of property. With multiple owners some parcels then become of no value and/or cannot be built upon. He also mentioned if we grandfather in or grant variances we will create many problems. If we are not having problems with the 5 acre minimum now, why would we change it?
Paul Scheidecker made a motion that we send this ordinance proposal back to the Plan Commission recommending to them that we add the wording to” grandfather in” those parcels that are already surveyed out. Jay Sippy seconded the motion. Carried.
After auditing the bills and reviewing the financial statement Paul Scheidecker made a motion to authorize checks # 7853-7876 to be paid, and the financial report be approved. Leo Zeman seconded the motion. Carried.
Lary Boese brought before the Board his latest plan for bedding sand mining. There will be more information once the contract is signed.
After setting the agenda for the October meeting, Jay Sippy made a motion that we adjourned the meeting. Paul Scheidecker seconded it. Meeting adjourned at 9:45 PM.
