March 10, 2010 Board Meeting Minutes
BOARD MEETING MINUTES
The Town Board of Auburn met on Wednesday March 10. 2010 for their monthly meeting
at the Auburn Town Hall.
All were present plus Randi Osberg, Ryan Brown, Marcia and Walter Loofboro, Annie Boese, Jack Clark, Kevin Ludwigson, Barry Lofthus, Dave Huse, Wade Latz, Al and Mark Blaha,. At 7:07 Lary Boese, Kevin Pietz and Mel Bollum arrived. Al Blaha left at 8:07 PM.
The meeting was called to order at 7:03 PM.
The minutes of the February meeting were read. Jay Sippy made a motion to approve the minutes as read. Paul Scheidecker seconded the motion. Carried.
Next the floor was opened to public comment. First, Marcia Loofboro shared her intention to run for County Supervisor in the upcoming election. Next, Ryan Brown and some of the Plan Commission members and Randi Osberg, worked together to determine where Ryan Brown’s “Future Land Use Map’ was not consistent with the Comprehensive Plan’s Future Land Use map.
The corrections will be cared for by Ryan Brown and Randi Osberg.
Lastly Mel Bollum presented an overview of the idea of a Wet Plant operation that would be used for sand mining in Auburn Township. No further discussion was allowed since this was just public comment and was not an agenda item. It was decided to hold a Public Hearing meeting as soon as possible on this subject.
After auditing the bills and reviewing the financial statement Jay Sippy made a motion to authorize checks # 7997 – 8014 to be paid, and the financial report be approved. Leo Zeman seconded the motion. Carried.
Following this there was some discussion concerning the idea of whether to withdraw CD # 15657 which matures on March 24th. Leo Zeman made a motion that we renew this CD for another 6-18 months, depending on the rates and what would be best. Jay Sippy seconded the motion. Carried.
Paul Scheidecker made a motion to set the annual meeting date for Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 7 PM. Jay Sippy seconded the motion.. Carried.
The Spring garbage collection date was set for May 1, 2010 from 9 AM to 1 PM with a motion by Jay Sippy. Paul Scheidecker seconded the motion. Carried.
Leo Zeman made a motion that the Town take blacktopping bids at the next Board meeting on April 14th. The motion was seconded by Paul Scheidecker. Motion carried.
After setting the agenda for theApril meeting, Paul Scheidecker made a motion that we adjourn the meeting. Jay Sippy seconded it. Meeting adjourned at 8:15 PM.
