SPECIAL MEETING ~ BIDS FOR ROAD CONSTRUCTION
April 29, 2010
A special meeting of the Board of the Town of Auburn was called on April 29, 2010 at the Town Hall. The purpose of this meeting was to take bids for the road construction to be done the summer of 2010.
The meeting was called to order by Chairman Leo Zeman at 7:03PM. The Board opened the sealed bids from Michel’s Sand and Gravel, Antczak, Allied Blacktop, Senn Blacktop, Monarch, and Chippewa County. After comparing prices the following bids were accepted with the following motions:
Paul Scheidecker made a motion to hire Michel’s Sand and Gravel for the base course bid at $6.48/ton which includes spreading and grading. Jay Sippy seconded the motion. Carried.
Jay Sippy made a motion to hire Monarch for pulverizing 5365 feet for their bid of $5,852.15. Paul Scheidecker seconded the motion. Carried.
Jay Sippy made a motion to hire Monarch for asphalt paving bid for 5365 feet with a compacted thickness of 2 ½ inches of hot mix asphalt, 20 feet wide and to do a final grade, water and compact the base course, and to wing out all driveways and mailboxes for a total of 1704 ton for $46.35/ton. Paul Scheidecker seconded it. Motion carried.
Jay Sippy made a motion to hire Michel’s Sand and Gravel for shouldering at $10.75/ton- delivered, graded, compacted, swept road and 2 foot shoulder. Paul Scheidecker seconded it. Motion carried.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Jay Sippy and seconded by Paul Scheidecker . Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:55PM.
